Crochet Hashbrown - Free no-sew pattern!
If you're a Threads user, you might have noticed #Hashbrowns trending this week on the app... I was inspired by the outpouring of enthusiasm for these delicious fried potatos and whipped up this cute hashbrown crochet pattern, complete with a removable wrapper!
This pattern is AMAZING for markets. I make mine start-to-finish (including face embroidery) in under 20 minutes. They don't use much yarn either, and the pattern is nice and simple - after you make a couple you'll be cranking them out for your next craft fair!
Being married to an Irishman, my love for the humble potato runs deep, and I am delighted to be able to share this simple, no-sew amigurumi hashbrown pattern with you all and spread some potatoey joy in my corner of the internet.
If you make one of these, I'd absolutely LOVE to see it, so please do tag me if you share your makes. You can find me at @heyitsmelb on Instagram, Threads and Youtube, and @hey_itsmelb on TikTok.
Enough yapping - let's get to what you came for - the HASHBROWNS!
Before you begin...
Some notes about this pattern!
- Work in a spiral/continuous rounds. Do not join and chain in between rounds.
- Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning/end of your rounds to help with this!
Materials
- Chenille yarn (White & Mustard/Brown)
- Obviously I recommend using Patti's Plush wherever possible! A soft, no-shed yarn from my yarn shop, Patti and Bango's Place 🫶
- 5.5mm hook
- 10mm Safety Eyes
- Polyfil
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Black thread for mouth (if desired)
- I use Bango's Blend, but any 8-ply/DK weight will suit!
